Bluebird FAQ

What insurance do we take:
  • Medicaid (Husky)
  • Medicare (traditional and managed care products)
  • Anthem
  • Cigna
  • Optum (Includes Connecticare, United HealthCare and Oxford)
  • Private Pay options are available

What to expect for your first appointment:
The first session is largely about building rapport and gathering information.

Your therapist will:
    • Listen to what brings you to therapy
    • Ask questions about your current situation and history
    • Discuss your goals and what you hope to achieve
    • Answer any questions you have about the therapy process

Your first session runs approximately 50-60 minutes. While your therapist will guide the conversation, you're always in control of what you choose to share and how quickly you move forward.

You and your therapist will:
    • Develop an initial plan for your therapy
    • Discuss recommended session frequency
    • Schedule your next appointment
    • Address any concerns or questions

Remember, there's no wrong way to "do" therapy. Whether you come ready to share or need time to feel comfortable, we meet you where you are. Your first session is about starting a conversation and taking that important first step toward positive change.
